FlemingMartin is pleased to announce that Nevro, a leading medical device company, has hired Stephen (Steve) Smith to be their new Vice President of Information Technology.
Steve brings over 20 years of global IT and R&D leadership experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Most recently, he was Vice President of R&D for Becton Dickinson’s $2.5B medication management solutions business where he was responsible for leading the global software and hardware product portfolio. Prior to that, Steve was Vice President of Digital Health and Innovation, IT at Allergan, where he partnered with business development teams to identify and develop digital business opportunities for their $15B pharmaceutical and medical device company. Before that, Steve worked at Medtronic for over 11 years where he held numerous leadership positions as Vice President of Product Development/R&D, Vice President/General Manager of Critical Care for Diabetes Ventures, and Vice President of IT, where he led the development of a proprietary platform for automating customer acquisition and onboarding and supporting the daily operations of the business. Prior to that, he was the Chief Information Officer at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Steve holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.
