Oakland, CA, February 1, 2021 – FlemingMartin is pleased to announce that Marqeta, a fintech unicorn that developed the first global modern card issuing platform, has hired Tamika Smith-Anderson to be their new Sr. HRBP, Tech & Product.
Tamika will work closely with the Chief People Officer and Chief Product Officer to support Marqeta’s Tech and Product teams as the Company continues to grow. She will be focusing on consultation, coaching, organizational design, performance cycles, and conflict resolution along with facilitating a coalition centered on employee engagement.
Tamika brings a breadth of experience and accomplishments as an HR professional at companies such as Gap, Genentech, and LendUp, a fintech startup that focuses on an underserved demographic. She has a very tailored approach when it comes to being a business partner and supporting her teams. At Gap, Tamika supported the e-commerce teams which included payments, digital marketing, content development, UI, and data and analytics.
Prior to joining Gap, Tamika was an HRBP at Genentech where she supported a team of about 420 individuals, partnering with leaders and providing counsel and consultative solutions. Prior to Genentech, Tamika was an HR Manager at LendUp. Earlier in her career, she served as HR Generalist before being promoted to Sr. HR Generalist at Room to Read (international non-profit focused on literacy and gender equality in education) and also held Generalist roles at Medpace (global clinical research organization) and MINACT (leading provider of career training and support services to government agencies).
Tamika earned a Master of Professional Studies in HR Leadership from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University.
