San Francisco, CA, August 14, 2023 – FlemingMartin is pleased to announce that Synapse, an Andreessen-backed Banking-as-a-Service (“BaaS”) platform that provides payment, deposit, lending, and investment product to FinTech companies, has hired Jillana Downing as its Chief Compliance Officer.
Jillana Downing is an accomplished Compliance Executive with demonstrated success in compliance management, policy and procedure development, risk assessment & mitigation, performance evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance. She is a trusted partner with an ability to enhance business growth while maintaining compliance within an organization. In her most recent role as Deputy Chief Compliance officer with Silicon Valley Bank (“SVB”), Jillana developed the vision and directed SVB’s strategic transformation of its global BSA/AML compliance program for SVB Financial Group. She was responsible for implementing essential compliance risk management pillars such as risk assessment, testing, complaints, regulatory change, and training. She has overseen Silicon Valley Bank’s foreign branches and offices’ implementation of US BSA/AML laws and regulations and also served as SVB’s Cayman Island CCO. Earlier in her career, Jillana spent time with First National Bank of Omaha for 12 years.
Jillana holds a B.S. from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, a M.P.A., from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a J.D. from Creighton University School of Law.
