Berkeley, CA, June 13, 2022 – FlemingMartin is pleased to announce that Caribou Bio, a pioneering company at the cutting edge of genome editing and cell therapy development, has hired Daniel Poon as Vice President of Operations and IT.
Daniel brings over 30 years of experience driving IT, Facilities, and Engineering within the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries over to Caribou. Throughout his career, Daniel has built and developed high-performing teams and guided complex organizations through periods of tremendous growth and change (e.g., scaling, acquisitions, integrations, spin-offs, physical moves, and consolidations). Moreover, Daniel has thrived in a wide array of companies representing all different sizes and stages of maturity.
Most recently, as Head of West Coast Operations & Engineering at AbbVie, Daniel held responsibility for all aspects of the financial and operational performance of AbbVie’s extensive west coast facilities and lab support operations. In this position, Daniel directed the consolidation of three campuses into one single, 500,000 sq. ft. building in South San Francisco (a $500M project). Previously, Daniel earned high marks in senior-level roles spanning IT and Facilities with PDL Biopharma (acquired by Abbott in 2010), CoTherix (acquired by Actelion in 2006), and SurroMed (purchased by PPD in 2005).
Daniel earned his MBA in International Business and Finance from Santa Clara University, and he received a BS in Computer Science, Statistics, and Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
